Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced that surprise inspections of government departments will commence anytime after June 12, stressing the need for complete public satisfaction in the delivery of government services.

He made these remarks during a review meeting at the Secretariat on Monday, where citizen feedback on key government schemes was assessed.

The review focused on ration distribution, Deepam LPG subsidy, APSRTC services, and Panchayat services. Feedback was collected through IVRS and QR code mechanisms. The Chief Minister noted that while some departments have shown improvement, APSRTC services still require significant enhancement, especially in the provision of drinking water and toilet facilities at bus stands. Survey data indicated 44% dissatisfaction with water facilities and 55% with toilet maintenance.

Under the reformed Deepam 2 scheme, the government will credit the full annual subsidy amount for three LPG cylinders directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts in advance. This will enable them to purchase cylinders as needed without incurring unauthorised charges. In terms of ration distribution, 74% of citizens confirmed receiving their supplies, while 76% rated the quality as good. West Godavari district topped the list in terms of public satisfaction. Regarding gas delivery, 62% of respondents reported no illegal charges, though issues persist in certain areas.

Emphasising the role of data analytics in governance, the Chief Minister urged departments to study citizen feedback, identify areas of concern, and implement corrective measures.

He also stated that the WhatsApp Governance platform currently offers 325 public services, with the aim of increasing this to 500 by June 12. Over 4.5 million citizens have already availed of these services.

The government is also moving forward with its proposed Drone City at the Orvakal Industrial Node, spread over 300 acres. The first phase, covering 116 acres, is underway, with 38 companies expressing interest. The tendering process is expected to conclude by June 12.
