Surveillance on Arogyasri hospitals needed: Rajini

Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Vidadala Rajani has instructed the officials to enhance the surveillance of the Arogyasri Hospitals. The Minister held a review on Arogyasri here on Monday and said that the State government has enhanced the procedures to 3,255, while there were just 1,059 procedures during the TDP government.

The government has conducted 51,731 treatments so far from June 2022 under the increased procedures by spending an excess amount of Rs 112.78 crore.

Minister Rajini said, “The State government is providing the treatments from 2,260 Arogyasri Hospitals including 202 hospitals in Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and spent a total of Rs 7,186 crores in four years while Rs 5176 Crores was spent during 5 years tenure of TD. Our government is ready to spend another Rs 3,000 crores for the coming financial year with a target of a total of Rs 10,000 crores.

On the occasion, the Minister instructed the officials to set up posters on services provided by the government under Arogyasri at all hospitals to create awareness among the public.

She instructed the officials to develop a response mechanism to monitor the facilities at Arogyasri Hospitals by deploying a committee and to study the auditing system at noted insurance companies to implement the best practice to control the misuse of government funds. Officers were instructed to take measures to solve the problems behind the usage of EHS cards for treatment.

While reviewing the Arogya Asara scheme, Minister Rajani said that so far they distributed Rs 978.01 crore to 15,75,624 beneficiaries under Arogya Asara and said that they are providing treatments for the poor worth Rs 361.57 crores under Ayushman Bharath scheme.

She said that the state government has taken measures to provide the route map link of the 108 Ambulance Vehicle for the convenience of the patient’s attendant which is under trial run. She instructed them to take measures to know the location of the patient for the convenience of the technician to reach the location without any hurdles to serve much better.

She said that their government provides services for every 74,609 patients with one 108 vehicles, while it kept One 108 vehicle available for 1.19 lakhs patients during TD tenure. Officials were instructed to increase the 108 services in tribal areas.

Principal Secretary (HM&FW) MT Krishna Babu, Aarogyasri CEO Harindraprasad. Additional CEO Madhusudhan Reddy and other Arogyasri officials were present.
