As part of the ongoing ‘Swachhata Pakhwada 2025’ celebrations, the CGST Guntur Commissionerate, in association with Guntur Trekking Kings and Decathlon Guntur, organised a Swachhata drive and trekking programme at the historic Kondaveedu Fort on 25th January. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness, and physical fitness among CGST officials, staff, and their families.
Over 70 participants, including officers, staff, and their family members, joined the 5-kilometre trek through the scenic surroundings of the fort. Alongside the trekking activity, participants took part in a cleanliness drive, collecting over 100 kilograms of plastic waste and other non-biodegradable materials from the area.
An awareness session on cleanliness, sustainability, and conservation was also conducted, emphasising the importance of collective efforts to protect natural resources and maintain hygiene.
Sadhu Narasimha Reddy, Commissioner of CGST Guntur Commissionerate, addressed the gathering and appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the participants. He underlined the need for environmental preservation and commended the team’s dedication to promoting cleanliness and sustainability. The Commissionerate has been actively involved in similar initiatives, including the recent destruction of illegal goods worth over Rs 12.5 crore, such as cigarettes, Ganga, and Chinese garlic, reinforcing its commitment to upholding environmental and public welfare.
