Tourism, Culture and Youth Services Minister RK Roja said that youth is the backbone of the country and wished the youth to excel in all fields. The minister has called upon today’s youth to become role models for the country, to become youth icons and to take inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s life. Roja was the chief guest of the state level National Youth Day celebrations wonderfully organized on Friday at Tummalapalli Kalakshetra in Vijayawada.
Minister Roja said that Swami Vivekananda’s speeches are an example, and urged the youth to reach bigger heights in their respective fields. Roja said that our Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken up many welfare programmes for youth development and is implementing them successfully. The minister stated that Swami Vivekananda guided the youth and if the youth followed his aspirations and inspiration, they would reach great heights.
As a Hindu yogi, Swami Vivekananda is hailed as the first person to have expressed the superiority of our country’s culture and traditions abroad. She explained that the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission established by Swami Vivekananda are serving society a lot today. That’s why Swami Vivekananda’s greatness is still claimed even after 120 years. Minister RK Roja said that we are lucky that Swami Vivekananda was born in our country.
She said that every year youth festivals are organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and this year the central government has announced the theme Youth for Digital India. She said that all the winners who secured first place in the state-level Yuvajanotsav competitions will be sent to participate in the national-level youth festival organized in Nashik this year. Minister Roka said that the National Youth Festival being held in Nashik, Maharashtra from January 12 to 16 should bring more prizes to our state. Vijayawada Central MLA and State Planning Board Vice Chairman Malladi Vishnu called upon the youth to imbibe Swami Vivekananda’s spirit to reach the goal. He said Swami Vivekananda is the guide of the youth. It is a matter of pride that the government which is constantly working for the development of the youth is at the fore front across the country, and for that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should be thanked. Swami Vivekananda is the inspiration for Audham Andhra. MLA Vishnu urged the youth to increase their mental development and physical fitness. Principal Secretary of Youth Services Department Pradyumna, Ramakrishna Mission Swami Tatha Maharaj, Youth Services Department Commissioner K. Saradadevi, Deputy Mayor A Sailaja Reddy, State Minority Corporation Chairman Sheikh. Asif, RTC Zonal Chairman P Mahesh and other participated.
