Must read

ZEE5, India’s largest home-grown video streaming platform, unveiled the trailer of Taapsee Pannu’s maiden production ‘Blurr’ recently. While the trailer has taken the internet by a storm, the lead actors, Taapsee Pannu and Gulshan Devaiah did something special which won everyone’s heart! Portraying the role of a visually impaired person in Blurr, Taapsee Pannu decided to do hold an exclusive preview of her film for the blind on International Day of Disabled Persons.

While the direct-to-digital film premieres on ZEE5 on 9th December, over 200+ visually impaired people came together to enjoy the exclusive preview of Blurr on 3rd December as it was made available with audio description. This effort was taken to promote the spirit of inclusivity and make the film accessible to differently abled people as cinema and entertainment is for all. It was heart-warming to see the visually impaired fraternity come together to enjoy a film which they could feel, hear and sense.

Directed by Ajay Bahl and produced by Zee Studios, Outsiders Films and Echelon Productions, Blurr is an intriguing narrative where Taapsee Pannu plays a partially blind woman looking for the truth behind her identical twin’s death, apparently by suicide. Taapsee Pannu has donned the producer’s hat for this thriller and Gulshan Devaiah plays her co-star and husband in the film.

Actor and Producer, Taapsee Pannu said, “I have always believed in giving back to the society as one can find deep, lasting happiness in a good deed and that makes the entire journey worthwhile. Also, while our movies have managed to cross borders and become accessible to people across the world, but cinema is not as inclusive for the visually impaired people. So, with Blurr, we are trying to change that by giving these special people an exclusive preview of the film ahead of its release on 9th December. Their reactions like smiling, clapping, and clenching their fists validated our hard work and craft. It was a lovely event spent in good company and I would like to thank ZEE5 for supporting this initiative and making it happen”

Actor Gulshan Devaiah said, “I am very pleased that Blurr will be available on ZEE5 with audio descriptions as I support the sentiment of entertainment inclusivity. This is a strong step towards making cinema accessible to all. Also, I am happy to be a part of this exclusive preview screening for the visually disabled community as I was curious to find out what they have to say about them experiencing the film we’ve made because their feedback will be very insightful towards ensuring entertainment inclusivity”. ‘Blurr’ is all set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 from 9th December2022
