District Collector RV Karnan has directed the Medical and Health Department personnel, ICDS personnel, CDPOs, supervisors, Anganwadi teachers and workers, doctors in primary health centre and employees to work in coordination.
Addressing the doctors, Anganwadi CDPOs, supervisors, in a review meeting held at Udayaditya Bhavan at the Collectorate here on Friday, he sought information from them on the dengue infections.
Besides immediately treating dengue patients, the authorities should take up anti-dengue measures covering at least 100 homes in the vicinity of the houses where dengue cases were first detected.
Anti-larvae fogging and spraying should be carried out, besides ensuring that there is no storage of water. The operations should be carried out by the medical and health department with the coordination of local panchayat, municipal staff.
Only upon conformation with the T Hub test reports, the dengue positive cases should be confirmed, he said and asked the authorities not to declare on the basis of the private diagnostic test lab reports. Only when the T-hub confirms the result, one should declare the cases, he told the meeting.
A round-the-clock functioning lab should be established to diagnose dengue, he suggested to the DMHO.
He asked the DMHO to hold a meeting with representatives of the diagnostic centres and convey the message. Medical kits to diagnose typhoid, diarrhoea and other diseases should be available with the PHCs.
He aksed the DMHO and Superintendent of the District Government Hospital and DCHS Medical College Principal to discuss the amenities needed at the medical college and submit relevant proposals.
DMHO Dr Kondal Rao, superintendent of the general hospital Lachchu Naik and other officials were present at the meeting.
