District Collector AS Dinesh Kumar directed the officials concerned to make arrangements to organize housewarming programmes in a festive atmosphere in the Jagananna colonies.
The Collector on Friday visited the Jagananna colonies at KV Palem at Cheemakurti and saw the progress of works. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the state government has decided to organize ‘Gruha Pravasam’ programmes for 5 lakh houses across the state in Jagananna colonies on August 30 th.
As part of this, in the presence of public representatives at the district level, it has been decided to undertake the programme in KV Palem Jagananna Colony in Chimakurthy. A total of 576 beneficiaries were granted houses in this layout, he added.
Collector Dinesh Kumar said out of 576 beneficiaries, 282 have completed construction of their houses. The Collector ordered the officials to complete the other pending infrastructure works in the layout before the end of this month and to monitor the construction of other houses as well. He said that the work of the arch should be completed for the colony and water and electricity should be provided on a permanent basis.
The Collector told the officials that the government would give financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the houses and asked them to make beneficiaries aware that a sump pit should be dug in for rainwater harvesting in every house. Housing PD Peraiah, Public Health EE Ali, Cheemakurthi Municipal Commissioner Fazulullah, Tehsildar Madhusudan, and officials of various departments were present.
