Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday acknowledged the Tata Group’s continued importance as a key stakeholder in the growth of Andhra Pradesh.
In a meeting with the Executive Chairman of the Tata Group, N. Chandrasekaran, the Chief Minister reflected on the remarkable legacy of the late Ratan Tata. In a message later shared on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Chandrababu Naidu praised Ratan Tata’s visionary leadership and significant contribution to India’s industrial landscape.
“Ratan Tata made immense contributions to the growth of Andhra Pradesh. The Tata Group will continue to be an integral part of the state’s progress,” said Chandrababu. He added, “During my meeting with Mr. Chandrasekaran, we discussed several key areas of growth where both the Andhra Pradesh Government and the Tata Group could collaborate.”
Chandrababu highlighted the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) commitment to establishing a new IT Development Centre in Visakhapatnam, which is expected to create up to 10,000 jobs. He also mentioned that Indian Hotels is exploring plans to set up 20 new hotels across the state, including Taj, Vivanta, Gateway, SeleCtions, and Ginger Hotels, along with a large convention centre, to boost tourism and industrial growth.
Additionally, Tata Power is evaluating the possibility of setting up plants to generate over five gigawatts (GW) of solar and wind energy, with an estimated investment of ?40,000 crore, the Chief Minister said.
“We also discussed potential collaborations to develop deep tech and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for primary healthcare. The Ratan Tata Innovation Hub will mentor entrepreneurs across the state, supporting our ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ vision, which is a fitting tribute to the legend who believed in empowering grassroots communities,” Chandrababu noted in his message on ‘X’.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these initiatives would play a crucial role in driving the growth and development of the state.
