TDP govt destroyed temples: Minister Kottu Rs 1,600-crore project for development of prominent temples

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Endowments Kottu Satyanarayana stated that revolutionary reforms were brought in the Endowments Department during the five-year rule of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday, the minister said that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration has been efficient and all the deserving poor got benefits. It is painful that the Opposition parties still criticise the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, which has implemented all the promises given to the people.
Minister Satyanarayana said that many temples were demolished during the Telugu Desam government, but the Jagan Mohan Reddy government not only restored them all, but also built 4,500 new temples. An initiative has been taken for the development of prominent temples across the State with an expenditure of Rs 1,600 crore.
He said that Salamandapam construction will be started soon to provide facilities to devotees in Srisailam temple. As a result of the recently held Mahalakshmi Yajna in Vijayawada, funds from the Centre have been pouring in.He said that till 2018 only 1,621 temples had the facility of offerings Dhupa-Deepa-Naivedyam, after the Jagan Mohan Reddy government came to power, the offerings increased to 10,000 temples.
The minister said that weekly and monthly festivals are organised by Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad to show the greatness of Hindu Dharma. Archaka Welfare Board, Agama Advisory Council and Archaka Training Academy have been formed.
Taking inspiration from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, software is being made available to provide online booking facility in the noted temples of the State. An app has also been created for online booking. A committee has been formed to protect temple lands from alienation. A law has been brought into force to vacate endowment properties after the lease period expires as per law. Houses have been allotted to the priests within the temples where they work who do not own a house. Promotions have been affected to the temple employees across the State. He said that engineers are being appointed to increase the quality of temple constructions, apart from providing promotions like no other chief minister has done in history. He said that the YSRCP government is the only government that had implemented the pre-audit system.
On the occasion, the employees of many temples congratulated Minister Kottu Satyanarayana and honoured him with gifts for the increase in retirement age and promotion of temple employees.
