Must read

Telugu Mahila State president Vangalapudi Anitha is accused of indulging in corruption when she represented the Payakaraopeta constituency from 2014-19. She has allegedly misused the power to commit irregularities. Grabbing of prime lands worth hundreds of crores and illegal mining of sand took place while she represented the Payakaraopet segment.
The Neeru Chettu programme was launched by the TDP regime as part of the Water Conservation Mission, however, money was withdrawn without any work. The TDP leaders would show the same work to get bills from the Irrigation department in the name of river rejuvenation. It is also alleged that the TDP government had billed the Neeru-Chettu program to the tune of Rs 13,859 crores. They allegedly robbed all the sands and mud from the Varaha and Tandava rivers in the region.
The TDP government reported that development works worth Rs 12 crores were carried out in four years of its rule in the Payakaraopeta constituency, however, Rs 6 crores were allegedly misappropriated by the then-local TDP legislator. Similarly, illegal mining of sand worth Rs 50 crore was carried out and the TDP leaders of four mandals made profits of nearly Rs 20 crore by selling the sand.
