The Opposition Telugu Desam members were on Wednesday suspended by the Assembly speaker for the second time during the on going AP Budget session. Soon after the House proceedings began, the Opposition members tried to stall the proceedings by raising slogans forcing the speaker Tammineni Sitaram to suspend the opposition members for one day.
The TDP members requested an adjournment motion on agricultural mechanisation, farmer insurance and other issues
Speaker Tammineni Sitaram denied allowing an adjournment motion. The opposition members protested at the Speaker’s podium and raised slogans against the government to allow a debate on the adjournment motion. All the MLAs N Balakrishna, B Ashok, Gorantla Butchaiah Chaudhary, Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Ghanababu, Velagapudi Ramakrishna-babu, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Eluri Sambasivarao and Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy were suspended by Speaker Tammineni Sitaram.
Earlier, the Telugu Desam members had protested the farmers’ issues by displaying placards against the ruling government and took out a rally from the secretariat fire station to the Assembly. They raised slogans saying that the government has weakened the agriculture sector during the last five years. They said crop insurance was stopped for the farmers and subsidies were not given.
