Botsa unveils TET, DSC schedule

Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana has released the schedule for the 2024 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and District Selection Committee (DSC) exams, aimed at filling 6,100 vacant teaching positions across the state.
At a press conference here on Wednesday, Minister Botsa Satyanarayana outlined the comprehensive plan to address the shortage of teachers, emphasising the recruitment of 6,100 individuals to various teaching roles. This includes 2,280 Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) vacancies, 2,299 School Assistant positions, 1,264 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), 215 Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), and 42 Principal roles through the DSC 2024. He underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring zero vacancies in the education sector, with a total of 14,219 teacher positions filled since assuming office.
The Minister assured that vacancies across different educational institutions, including Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Municipal, AP Model Schools, and various welfare residential educational institutions, will be promptly filled. Minister Satyanarayana affirmed that the remaining vacancies will be addressed by the upcoming DSC examination, scheduled to conclude in April.
Regarding the AP Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET), Minister Satyanarayana announced that the computer-based Test (CBT) will take place from March 27 to April 9, with results expected on April 14. Notifications for the DSC exams will be issued on February 12, followed by CBT exams from March 15 to 30, and results will be declared on April 7. Additionally, examination centres will be established in Chennai and Berhampur to facilitate the process.
Minister Satyanarayana reiterated the government’s unwavering dedication to educational advancement, citing an allocation of Rs 73,000 crores over the past five years towards this endeavour.
Principal Secretary Praveen Prakash, State School Education Commissioner Suresh Kumar, and other officials graced the occasion with their presence.
