TDP objects to CM photo on caste certificates

Must read

Telugu Desam Party national general secretary Varla Ramaiah has written a letter to the Central Election Commissioner and the Chief Secretary of the State government regarding the printing of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photo on caste certificates.
In his letter, Ramaiah expressed concern that printing CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photo on caste certificates issued by Revenue officials in the state was a direct affront to the conduct of fair elections by the Election Commission. He noted that such actions amounted to the
promotion of political interests and a personality cult, funded by the public exchequer, which went against ethical and moral considerations.
Ramaiah stated that this practice by the Revenue authorities is inappropriate, especially when the election notification is expected to be released shortly. He urged the authorities to immediately cease this unethical practice of political promotion by directing the State administration not to use photos on official documents such as caste certificates and passbooks.
