Must read

TDP national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu asserted that as long as there is a Telugu race, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will exist in Telangana. He said that the TDP would regain its past glory in Telangana. After becoming Chief Minister for the fourth time, Chandrababu Naidu visited NTR Trust Bhavan in Hyderabad for the first time on Sunday. On this occasion, leaders and activists warmly welcomed him.
Addressing the leaders and cadre present in large numbers, Chandrababu Naidu noted that successive governments have continued the development of Hyderabad city, a process initiated by the TDP during its tenure. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister expressed a strong desire for cooperation and progress between both Telugu states in all sectors.
“Problems should be resolved not by causing disturbances but through dialogue. I am determined to eradicate the evil that caused immense disaster to Andhra Pradesh,” Chandrababu Naidu stated. He acknowledged the hard work of TDP leaders and cadre, both directly and indirectly, in his victory in the last elections, expressing a wish to be born again on Telugu soil if given a rebirth.
“With the enthusiasm among the cadre here, I am confident that the TDP will certainly regain its past glory.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are like my two eyes, and the TDP will continue to work to protect the interests and welfare of both states. I commit to working for the welfare of the Telugu society till my last breath,” he added.
Recalling the reforms introduced by the late NTR, such as nullifying the Patel and Patwari system, Chandrababu Naidu mentioned that these reforms brought true independence to the people of Telangana. He credited the welfare measures introduced by the late NT Rama Rao for the significant progress of the Backward Classes (BCs) in both Telugu states.
Chandrababu Naidu expressed happiness that the TDP cadre in Telangana remains active, despite the party not being in power since 2004. “The respect among the cadre for the TDP is growing daily, and activists still carry the yellow flag despite the lack of proper leadership now,” he remarked.
Highlighting the resilience of the Telugu society and its leaders, including himself, Chandrababu Naidu said that they have overcome various difficulties and emerged stronger. “I will never forget the support you all extended to me in Hyderabad when I was arrested. Over one lakh people gathered at Gachibowli to support me,” he recalled.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by great leaders like the late NT Rama Rao and the late PV Narasimha Rao. Chandrababu Naidu pointed out the transformative role of the TDP in the history of Telugus and asked party leaders and activists to remember the state of Hyderabad before 1995. “We developed Hyderabad by laying the foundation for Hi-Tech City, which is now a leading city in the country,” he said.
He mentioned that the Outer Ring Road and the International Airport were built with a vision, and the foundation for the knowledge economy was laid. Regretting the significant losses suffered by Andhra Pradesh from 2019 to 2024, he noted that the state is now in deep crisis. However, he assured that he would take all possible steps to bring Andhra Pradesh out of this crisis.
Chandrababu Naidu announced the formation of a committee to resolve bilateral problems between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. “I know every inch of both Telugu states, from Adilabad to Srikakulam. All activists who have worked hard for the TDP will certainly be encouraged in every possible way,” he said.
He also mentioned that Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief, Pawan Kalyan, has extended support to the TDP to ensure that the anti-incumbency vote is not divided. Chandrababu Naidu added that the BJP has also come forward to join hands with the parties. He stressed that the time has come to demonstrate the kind of leaders needed in politics, given the destruction caused by an unfit leader in Andhra Pradesh.
Despite the state exchequer being empty and the state in distress, Chandrababu Naidu expressed confidence in his ability to bring Andhra Pradesh out of this crisis, as he has done before.
