TDP won’t get more than 54 seats: Kesineni Nani

Must read

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) has brought to light what he perceives as the TDP’s unrealistic aspirations for the 2024 general elections. According to Nani, the TDP, led by Chandrababu Naidu, is harbouring unrealistic hopes of returning to power and is likely to secure a maximum of 54 seats.  He also downplayed the impact of the alliance on the Andhra Pradesh elections. Notably, Kesineni Nani recently switched allegiance from the TDP to the YSR Congress, joining in the presence of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Accusing Chandrababu of orchestrating a scheme to deceive JSP chief Pawan Kalyan, Nani claimed that Naidu is strategically attempting to sideline Pawan in a bid to pave the way for his son, Nara Lokesh, to assume the role of Chief Minister.
Referring to Chandrababu as a ‘Vijayawada traitor,’ Nani criticised the former TDP leader for allegedly neglecting the development of the city. He asserted that Chandrababu’s focus on real estate development through Amaravati would lead to the decline of Vijayawada. Nani disclosed survey results predicting that TDP would secure only 54 seats in the upcoming elections, emphasizing the limited impact of alliances with other parties.
Speaking on development projects, Nani highlighted his contributions, such as funding a water tank through his MP LADS, with assistance from YSRC Vijayawada East Constituency in charge of Devineni Avinash, in Autonagar. He expressed gratitude to CM YS Jagan for the opportunity to be an MP candidate on the YSRC list.

While stating that he is not against the idea of Amaravati as the capital, Nani suggested alternative locations, such as between Vijayawada and Guntur on the Vijayawada-Chennai National Highway. He criticised the current planning for the new capital, alleging involvement of the land mafia and accusing both Naidu and Lokesh of cheating farmers. Nani further alleged that Chandrababu would deceive Pawan Kalyan for Lokesh after the elections.
