TDP, YSRCP workers clash at Macherla

Clash between TDP and YSRC activists in Macharla of Palnadu district erupted creating a tense situation. Under the leadership of Macherla TDP in-charge J Brahma Reddy, a programme was organised under the ‘Idemi Kharma Rastraniki?’ near the municipal office in the town.

The Telugu Desam supporters, led by Macherla party in-charge Julakanti Brahma Reddy, were taking part in ‘Idhemi Kharma?’ programme. However, the supporters of both the parties clashed and pelted stones against each other, resulting in several of them suffering minor injuries.

The police rushed to the scene and dispersed the agitators and shifted the injured persons to the local hospital for treatment. The TDP leader’s office and a few vehicles were set on fire.

Both the TDP and YSR Congress (YSRC) leaders blamed each other for the incident.
Macherla MLA Pinnelli Rama Krishna Reddy faulted the TDP leaders for destroying their own assets to get political mileage.

TDP State president K Atchannaidu condemned the arrest of their party leader Brahma Reddy, attacking their party office and destroying five cars belonging to their party leaders.

TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh in a tweet condemned the attack on party supporters by the YSR Congress supporters and found fault with the police for taking their party leader Brahma Reddy into custody and extended support to the TDP supporters who suffered injuries in the clash.
