Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav blames the opposition for being blind to the rapid progress Telangana made

“Telangana has become a trendsetter for the entire country. The Centres has been copying the Telangana schemes like Mission Bhagiratha and Rythu Bandhu,” Minister for Finance T Harish Rao asserted on Sunday

Harish Rao, along with Minister for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Lok Sabha member Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, laid the foundation stone for PV Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University building complex here. MLC Farooq Hussain, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Roja Sharam and District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that the country cannot grow unless farmers progress. “If the farmer is left writhing in agony, the country cannot progress,” he said and added that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi government under the leadership of K Chandrashekar Rao has been giving top priority to the agriculture sector. The State government has also given top priority to improving the effectiveness of veterinary service, he pointed out. Telangana stands as an example in promoting the fisheries sector, he said.

The Telangana government has introduced a 1962 toll-free number for veterinary services. The BJP government at the Centre replicated Telangana State mobile veterinary ambulance clinic service, Harish said. “They (BJP leaders) praise the schemes being implemented in Telangana, but they criticise the government when they visit the State,” the Minister regretted. The Centre has been giving one award after another to the State and it proved that Telangana stood head and shoulder above other States. He pointed out that KCR paid respects to PV, Kaloji and Konda Laxman Bapuji. The Veterinary University was named after PV, Health University after Kaloji and Horticulture University after Konda Laxman Bapuji.

The Kaleshwaram project helped improve the groundwater level and also the tanks are brimming with water even during mid-summer, he said. The administration has decided to enrol 12,460 fishermen as new members and distribute 3,70 sheep. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for awarding the Veterinary University to Siddipet.

Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Yadav said that the BRS government has time and again demonstrated exceptional commitment and dedication to providing good governance and implementing welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor. It showed that the government, which is committed to the welfare of the people, can effectively provide good governance, he asserted.

Apart from building massive irrigation projects, the State government provided jobs to 1.37 lakh youth. The government has now issued notification for 97,000 jobs, he pointed out. The rural economy improved. The government has already implemented a scheme for the welfare of the Golla Kurmas community and it would do more, he said. While the Telangana government has been providing power round-the-clock, the 24-hour power supply is conspicuously absent in Gujarat which is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state, he said.

He came down heavily on the opposition parties for being blind to the rapid strides Telangana is making towards progress. He said that there are 3.72 lakh members in the Telangana Fishermen Society and he promised to ensure that one lakh more members are enrolled.
