Telangana govt procures every grain of paddy: Jagadish

Telangana government will procure every grain of paddy produced and 7,031 procurement centres will be set across the State, said Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy. 

Speaking at a meeting, shortly after inaugurating paddy procurement centres at Kandagalta and Gattikal villages in the Suryapet district, the Minister said that procurement of paddy has been going on at a brisk pace. As much as 90,000 metric tonnes of paddy has already been procured in the State. A major part of the paddy procured so far in the State came from Nalgond, he said. 

Jagadish Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had directed the officials to ensure that every grain of paddy is procured. After the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) came to power, the Chief Minister always took decisions for the welfare of the farmers. The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that every grain of paddy is procured without any hitch.  

The official machinery took all measures to arrange gunny bags and moisture machines apart from deploying a sufficient number of workers to ensure smooth procurement of paddy at all centres. 

Zilla Parishad Chairman G Venkatnarayan Goud and MPP member M Swarnalatha and others were present.
