Tension as 2 groups clash during Ganesh immersion rally

Tension prevailed at Ellicharla village in Narasapuram mandal in WG district when a clash took place between two groups which led to stone pelting during the Ganesh immersion procession during the night of Sunday.
Police said that when the Ganesh immersion process was taken out, a group of people belonging to a particular community, insisted on playing a Telugu film song for which the other group objected. A heated argument took place between the youths belonging to the two groups on the issue which led to pelting stones. Tension prevailed in the village with the clashing youths hurling stones. A police constable Rajesh suffered an injury in the incident.
Narasapuram Circle Inspector Durga Prasad and SI Vasu rushed to the village. Additional forces were sent to the village bringing the situation under control.
