TG CMO reshuffles staff responsibilities

The Telangana Chief Minister’s Office has finalised a structured distribution of key topics among senior officers, with Principal Secretary V. Sheshadri, IAS, emerging as the central figure overseeing major policy portfolios and coordinating overall administration within the CMO.

Sheshadri has been entrusted with General Administration, Law and Order, the Law Department, Home, Finance, Planning, Legislative Affairs, and Land Revenue. He also holds charge of crucial portfolios like Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Cooperation, and Marketing.

In addition to these, he functions as the overall in-charge of the Chief Minister’s Office, tasked with supervising officers and ensuring interdepartmental coordination on all key policy issues.

Retired IAS officer Srinivasa Raju, currently serving as Principal Secretary, has been assigned Transport, Roads and Buildings, Housing, Endowments, and Information and Public Relations. He will also oversee Sports, Youth Services, Culture, and Tourism, ensuring policy integration across developmental and cultural segments.

K. Manicka Raj, IAS, Secretary to the Chief Minister, will handle subjects linked to Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Irrigation, and Revenue, especially Commercial Tax, Prohibition and Excise.

He will also be responsible for Mines and Geology, Health, Medical and Family Welfare, and Disaster Management. He will also supervise Panchayat Raj and Rural Development with a focus on Rural Water Supply.

B. Ajith Reddy, IDES, serving as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been assigned the portfolios of Energy, School and Higher Education, Technical Education, and key economic drivers like Industries and Investments, and IT and Electronics.

He will also oversee Labour, Employment Training and Factories, CM’s security arrangements, and administrative matters like appointments and the internal functioning of the CMO.

Meanwhile, the OSD to the Chief Minister, Vemula Srinivasulu, has been given a welfare-centric mandate.

He handles departments concerning Women, Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, along with Environment, Forests, Science and Technology.

He is also in charge of SC, ST, BC, and Minority Welfare. Srinivasulu will also manage citizen engagement platforms like Prajavaani and CM Petitions, oversee disbursement from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), and handle the digital transformation and computerisation of the CMO.

The latest allocations aim to streamline the CMO’s functioning and ensure that each vertical receives focused administrative attention.
