‘The idea for Simbaa came from a challenge by Udaya Bhanu’

Must read

The much-anticipated film Simbaa, featuring Anasuya and Jagapathi Babu, is poised to make a significant impact with its release on August 9. Produced by Sampath Nandi and Dasari Rajendara Reddy under the banners of Sampath Nandi Team Works and Raj Dasari Productions, the film is directed by Murali Manohar and presented by Sampath Nandi. The pre-release event was attended by distinguished guests including former Rajya Sabha members Santhosh Kumar, MLA Vijaya Ramana Rao and Raj Thakur.
Sampath Nandi shared the inspiration behind the film, revealing, “The idea for Simbaa came from a challenge by Udaya Bhanu as part of the Green India Challenge. This challenge led to increased awareness about Haritaharam, and during that period, I encountered a story that is both eye-opening and entertaining with a strong, meaningful message. Although I often propose mass commercial stories to producer Rajender Reddy, he chose the story of Simbaa to make a positive impact on society. This film is a tribute to his noble intentions. I am also thankful to Poorna and Raghava for their support in production, Kishore for his scientific input, and Vijay for his script ideas. I believe Simbaa will impress audiences and meet their expectations.”
Producer Rajender Reddy elaborated on the film’s inspiration, stating, “Our story was inspired by Vanajivi Ramaiah’s initiative to plant over one crore saplings, a feat documented in school textbooks. We wanted to center our film around nature, emphasising its importance and the consequences of neglecting it. In conjunction with the film’s release, we plan to launch a tree-planting program in our village and will present several thousand plants to Chiranjeevi on his birthday, August 22. We aim to use the film’s profits to support this initiative. I am grateful to everyone who contributed to this project. Our film presents a unique concept that hasn’t been explored before in Indian cinema. I hope audiences will appreciate it when it hits theaters on August 9.”
