Govt did not invite me for Bonalu: Guv

The Governor, Dr Tamilisai Sounderarajan, said that she did not get any invitation from the state government officially for attending Bonalu celebrations as usual. She said that she had organised Bonalu celebrations at the Raj Bhavan.
Dr Tamilisai offered Bonam and Vadi Biyyam at the Nalla Pochamma Temple located on Raj Bhavan premises on the occasion of Old City Lal Darwaza Bonalu celebrations on Sunday. She celebrated Bonalu at the Raj Bhavan along with officials and local people.
“This is not new to me. I am happy even though I did not get an invitation from the government,” she said.
Extending Bonalu greetings to the people of Telangana, Dr Tamilisai said that she had prayed to the Goddess for everyone.
The Governor said that the people of Telangana were celebrating Bonalu reflecting its culture. She also hailed ISRO scientists for successfully launching Chandrayan-3.
She said that she strongly supports the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and that it will empower women.
