Through her organ donation Bhumika Reddy’s tragic accident gave new hope to five people

Dr Bhumika Reddy, a 24-year-old house surgeon from LB Nagar, tragically lost her life in a road accident. Despite her untimely passing, she gave hope to five people through organ donation. She succumbed to her injuries at Continental Hospitals in Gachibowli, after a severe crash on the Outer Ring Road (ORR). In a final act of generosity, her heart, liver, lungs and kidneys were donated to save lives.
The only child of Nangi Nandakumar Reddy and Lohitha, Dr Bhumika was a promising young doctor training to become a surgeon. She completed her MBBS from a prestigious medical college and excelled in her studies. She later interned at Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar, gaining valuable experience.
In her honour, Continental Hospitals staff paid their respects as her body was taken for organ donation. The Chairman of Continental Hospitals, Dr Guru N Reddy expressed deep sorrow at her loss and appreciated her family’s selfless decision to donate her organs.
Dr Bhumika’s lungs were donated to KIMS Hospital, her heart to Apollo Jubilee Hills, her liver to Continental Hospitals, one kidney to NIMS Hospital, and the other to Continental Hospitals. Her legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire many.
