Actress Srijita Ghosh, from the southern part of India was lucky enough to make her Telugu debut film with Idhe Maa Katha, which featured Bhoomika Chawla, Srikanth and Sumanth Ashwin. The film was based on the story of a journey of a bike rider who rode from Hyberabad to Manali. The actress played the role of a biker.

Srijita will next be seen in Katha Venuka Katha which is going to release in the month of February. Her co-stars are Vishwanth Duddumpudi and Ali—a very famous comedian in Telugu movies. Other than these, Sunil and Satyam Rajesh will also be seen sharing the screen space with the actress. “It was a nice experience to work with all of them for a suspense thriller movie. I enjoyed playing the role of a homely and determined character.”

Apart from Katha Venuka Katha, she will be seen in a Kannada film Usire Usire, which is very special to her, and Irra Gurri, which will be released in four languages.

Talking about Katha Venuka Katha, the movie features well known actors like Kichha Sudeep and Rajeev Hanu. The story is based on Hindu-Muslim love story, where she is playing the role of a Muslim girl. It will give a message to the audience about pure love. On the other hand, in Irra Gurri, Srijita is playing the role of a village girl and the movie is about the superstitions that a girl child is a curse and all the losses are beared by the family because of the birth of the girl child!

She is also in talks with two big productions of Telugu and Kannada which will be revealed post she is on board. Other than movies she has also worked in music videos.

She believes that it is no more Bollywood and Tollywood industry but it has become one industry that is Indian Film Industry. It has to be very important to be accepted by the audiences as Southern actors are working in Hindi movies and Hindi movie actors are working in Southern movies.

She also aspires to work in Hindi movies soon because, “Though South is always a good field for me and they have accepted me well here and I also love the stories, plots and technicalities of this industry but about Hindi industry I sense it will come to me very naturally as that is my own language.”

Srijita mentions that in our country we have different cultures and languages and we must respect each of them. “We have talent from each and every single state like Bengal is known for its musical culture and singers. Maharashtra has good actors. In South India we have lot of good technicians. I am of the opinion that every industry is doing very well. As we say there are two kinds of movies, one is commercial and other is art. In Hindi cinema we have concept based movies whereas in web series it is more subject based. The performance by the actor has to be very natural and subtle based on eye catchy stories.”

Srijita further shares that Telugu audience is fond of more drama, action, dance and colourful frame. “The Malayalam movies are off beat, slow and focus more on good concept. Hindi movies are more commercial based so, there is really no comparison as all the industries are doing good. I am keen to work with famous actor Ayushmann Khurrana as he is a good actor and singer as well. The way he justifies the characters and the movies he chooses is very inspirational. I would also love to work with actor Kaartik Aaryan.”

When we asked her about her passion for acting, she recollected stories about her childhood where she remembers her mother telling her that she was very fond of Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla and after watching their movies she would imitate them in front of the mirror just at the age of two years.
