The Telangana Revenue Employees Service Association (TRESA) appealed to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to restore the village revenue system.
The TRESA also requested the Revenue Minister to bring back to the Revenue Department VROs who are being transferred to other departments.
TRESA representatives met Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday at the Secretariat. TRESA President Vanga Ravinder Reddy, General Secretary K. Goutham Kumar, former VRO JAC Chairman Golkonda Sathish, Secretary General Sudhakar Rao, co-chairman Suresh Babu and others are among the TRESA leaders who met Minister Ponguleti.
Later, speaking to the media, TRESA President Vanga Ravinder Reddy said that there is a need to strengthen the revenue system to take social welfare schemes to the people effectively, to offer revenue services continuously, to protect government lands and to inquire about various applications in the field.
The TRESA representatives expressed happiness over the popular government formed under the leadership of Revanth Reddy and for thinking in favour of the people and employees.
They said that they are happy that the government favours restoring the village revenue system and for recognising the troubles the people are facing due to the lack of VROs and VRAs.
They said that the BRS government transferred them to other departments overnight without considering the seniority of VROs. Now VROs are undergoing mental agony and are not getting promotions. They said that they had appealed to the Minister to solve their problems from a humanitarian angle and to bring back VROs to the Revenue Department if they want and to give promotions to them depending on their qualifications.
TRESA said that the Minister had assured them that the Congress government would strengthen the village-level revenue system and solve all the problems of VROs.
