Telangana Congress is thinking of fielding AICC leader Sonia Gandhi from Nalgonda or Khammam or Bhongir Lok Sabha constituencies if she accepts to contest from Telangana State in the coming LS polls, it is learnt.
The party is thinking that these constituencies are of the Congress constituencies and Sonia Gandhi will win easily with a huge majority.
In fact, Nalgonda and Bhongir constituencies produced Congress MPs (N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venakt Reddy, who are Ministers in the Congress government) in the 2019 elections.
However, the BRS candidate won from the Khammam constituency (Nama Nageshwara Rao) in the 2019 LS elections.
The erstwhile Khammam and Nalgonda districts have given a huge majority to the Congress party in the recent Aassembly elections sending 9 and 11 MLAs respectively out of 64 MLAs the party won.
TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy said that the party is strong in Khammam and Nalgonda and the leaders and cadres are very strong in these districts.

“Sonia Gandhi will win easily and there is no need for Sonia Gandhi’s full presence during the elections as the leaders will ensure her victory with a thumping majority”, Jagga Reddy said.
