Federation of Telugu Associations of Maharashtra alleged that the Telangana government keeps forgetting Telangana settlers in Maharashtra. More than 50 lakh of Telangana people have been residing in Maharashtra State since the past 300 years. Political leaders are only using them as a vote bank but nothing else.
President of the federation Jaganbabu Ganji said, “We request all the political parties to provide TS welfare schemes to Telangana labour people who are working in Maharashtra. Provide a yearly budget to organise State cultural festivals like Bathukamma, Bonalu and other cultural festivals in a big way in Mumbai.”
“Some of the voters in Telangana State reside in Maharashtra for more than 6 to 10 months every year for work and go back to their villages. So, the government should give attention towards them also,” he said.
