TSUTF state general secretary Chava Ravi demanded the removal of the Education Commissioner for being negligent in resolving the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) controversy. It led to denial of promotion of teachers in the State.
He was speaking at a media conference at the TSUTF district office herre.
Over the last three years, the Commissioner turned a deaf ear to the representations made by the teachers’ unions. The Commissioner failed to find solution to problems in the Education Department, he said.
Ravi demanded that the government focus on solving the problems being faced by teachers. The government should ensure promotions and transfer of teachers.
He demanded that teachers who were transferred in September should be relieved immediately after the elections, education volunteers should be appointed in schools by the beginning of the academic year to ensure that there is no shortage of teachers. He demanded that the state government release the four pending installments of DA and all the bills pending with the Finance Department immediately after getting the approval of the Treasury, including the past PRC dues.
