Kannada actor Upendra has been roped in to play a Superstar in Ram Pothineni’s upcoming film, directed by P Mahesh Babu of Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty fame. The film is progressing at a brisk pace at Ramoji Film City and will soon shift to Rajahmundry for the next schedule.
According to a source, Ram plays the role of Sagar, an ardent fan of a Superstar (Upendra). The story centers around his dream to build a cinema theater in his village. The makers had been searching for the right actor to play the Superstar and finalised Upendra after considering several options.
Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead. The film also features Rao Ramesh, Rahul Ramakrishna, Murali Sharma and Satya. Music duo Vivek-Mervin are making their Telugu debut with this project. Ram, who’s been on the lookout for a hit, is pinning strong hopes on this film and will be seen in a completely new avatar. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
