The US Consulate in Hyderabad has announced that it processed a record number of visas in just two days this week. According to the consulate, more than 4,440 visas were processed on Monday and Tuesday alone, with the majority of them being tourist and student visas.
In a statement, the consulate said that this was the largest two-day total since it moved into its new building and that it was part of their broader efforts to open more appointments. Many students have stalled their education and travel plans to the US recently as the US consulate building was shifted.
