V & E officials inspect 54 schools in State

The Vigilance and Enforcement Department officials inspected 54 schools in AP State on Saturday to check the implementation of the mid-day meals scheme (Jagananna Goru Mudda). The V&E officials conducted thorough inspections and found few observations and are going to submit a report to the government.

The V &E officials said that in ZP High School of Chollangi village of Tallarevu Mandal of Kakinada district, the stock register and parent committee meeting register are not maintained and the kitchen is not spacious and located near the toilet.

They said that in many of the schools’ inspections are not being carried out by MEOs/DEOs. The officials said that in ZP High Schools of Devarapalli village and mandal of East Godavari district and Gannavaram of Krishna district and Nunna of NTR Vijayawada district students expressed their dissatisfaction about the quality and taste of food.

The V& E officials mentioned that in MPP (TW) School, Mandaparthi village of Ananthagiri mandal of ASR district, ‘chikki’ quality is not good, in GVMC Primary School of Rayapalayam village of Bheemili mandal of Visakhapatnam district, Katepalli ZPP High School of Vinjamur mandal of Nellore district, Government High School of Tangutur village and mandal of Prakasam district, ZP High School of Jarugumalli of Prakasam district, RO/ bore/ connection for drinking water is not available.

The V& E officials said that in ZP High School of Kumaram village of Jami mandal of Vizianagaram district, rice bags are not containing the MDM logo, in certain schools stock variation was noticed when compared with book stocks, for example, variation in stocks of rice, egg and ‘chikki’ noticed in Government High School of ‘Irala’ village and mandal of Chittoor district and in ZPHS.
