It seems that the summer will be quieter than expected for film enthusiasts, as yet another high-profile film has announced a delay. Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, has had its release postponed again. Sources indicate that the filmmakers need to re-shoot certain scenes and that music director Anirudh requires additional time to complete the background score. As a result, the film’s scheduled release on July 4 is now highly unlikely.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom stars Vijay Deverakonda and Bhagyashri Borse. Produced by Sithara Entertainments, the film had initially been slated for a May 31 release, then pushed to July 4. Now, the release is expected to take place either in the first week of August or at another later date.
With this delay, summer in Tollywood looks set to be lacking in major film releases, especially with Hari Hara Veera Mallu also being postponed. Vijay Deverakonda, who has worked hard on Kingdom, is hoping for a major commercial success at this point in his career.
