Congress MP from Bhongir Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday addressed a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao appealing to him to extend the Metro Rail network up to Hayathnagar from LB Nagar.

Komatireddy said in his letter that there is a need for the extension of the Metro Rail network from LB Nagar to Hayathnagar because Hyderabad has been expanding speedily towards the Hyderabad-Vijayawada road. People from Hayathnagar are going to LB Nagar to catch the metro train. This has been creating trouble for the commuters, particularly the office-goers, he said.

He said that the State government had thought of extending the Metro railway network up to Hayathnagar. But, there was no move to take it forward.

Komatireddy said that vehicular traffic has been increasing day by day in Hyderabad leading to traffic problems. On the other hand, the maintenance of roads is not good, leading to severe troubles in travelling, he said.

The Bhongir MP also said that the Centre is expanding the national highway-65 as a six-lane road and the vehicular traffic would increase in the coming days leading to trouble commuters to travel between Hyathnagar and LB Nagar. The commuters would stop gradually using their vehicles.

He said that the Centre is in favour of the Metro Rail network extension from LB Nagar to Hayathnagar. “I also addressed a letter to the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Puri responded and forwarded the letter to the State Municipal Department. However, there is no response.
