Telangana Congress MPs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and A. Revanth Reddy behave like Tom and Jerry. Sometimes they are friends but behave like enemies during arguments.
They were friends of late. However, on Sunday, they had a serious argument during the Screening Committee meeting held in the Congress War Room in New Delhi.
The matter which led to the verbal duel is that Revanth included two more names in constituencies where senior Congress leaders are contesting, it is learnt. The other Screening Committee members too objected to Revanth’s act and supported Venkat.
Venkat asked Revanth to reveal how he can include the new names at a time when candidates have been almost finalised. Revanth replied that he is the president of the TS Congress and he knows the party’s condition and the condition of its activists.
It is learnt that the verbal duel between Venkat and Revanth went on for a few minutes. Both hurled challenges at each other saying that they would settle the issue with Rahul Gandhi.
Meanwhile, the party did not allow Balaram Naik and Shabbir Ali who belong to Revanth’s group to attend the Screening Committee meeting although the TS Congress had included their names in the Screening Committee a few days ago.
