Venkatesh creates history at 64

Daggubati Venkatesh made his debut as a lead actor with ‘Kaliyuga Pandavulu’ which was released in 1986. From then onwards, he delivered many successful films and made his own mark in Telugu cinema. After Sobhan Babu, Venkatesh is the actor who has a huge female fan following. Now, the 64-year-old actor created history with his latest film ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunnam’, beating many of the young actors, with record collections.
The film was released on January 14 on the occasion of Sankranthi and from the first show onwards, it got very positive word of mouth. Even the makers couldn’t expect that this film would collect this much amount at the box-office. Anil Ravipudi is the director, while Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary are the female leads.
Now, the film is shaking all the records and stands on top of the charts. The makers officially announced a few days back that the film has reached the Rs 300 crore mark. With this, Venkatesh beats every other young actor like Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, Ram Charan in the collections in Telugu states. This is the first time a regional film like ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunnam’ has collected huge collections only in Telugu.
