Vijayawada Book Festival from Dec 28 to Jan 7

Vijayawada Book Festival Society (VBFS) president T Manohar Naidu has said that the 34th edition of the Vijayawada Books Festival will begin on December 28, 2023, till January 7, 2024.
Addressing the media here on Friday, he said the book fair will be named after the late Varaha Chetty Book Centre, Visakhapatnam. The main stage will be named after the famous writer Late Kethu Viswanatha Reddy. Also, Pratibha Vedika, where students’ programs will be held, will be named after Late Sri Ramana.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer and Minister of Education Botsa Satyanarayana are likely to be the chief guests at the inauguration ceremony. After the inaugural ceremony, a memorial condolence program will be held at 7 pm. Padmabhushan Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad will speak about the late Varaha Chetti, Mandalaparthi Kishore and Obulesu about Ketu Viswanatha Reddy Pannala Subrahmanya Bhattu will speak about Sri Ramana in this meeting. On December 29, at 6 o’clock,  late Avantsa Somasundar Satjayanti Sabha will be held.
Bellapu Babji, Honorary President of VBFS said that on December 30, the launch of a Telugu book  ‘Bhaaratha Desa Janabha Samasyalu (India’s Population Problems’), will be held. Retired Chief Election Commission S Y Qureshi will participate in this meeting.
Secretary of the VBFS Lakshmaiah said “Arrangements are being made to organise a ‘Book Lovers’ Walk’ from  Siddhartha College to Book Festival grounds at 4 PM on January 1. Later, the Emesco book launch will take place in the events held on the stage..
