Vikram’s birthday treat from Thangalaan

In a thrilling development, Jio Studios and Studio Green Films have teamed up for the eagerly awaited film THANGALAAN, helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Pa. Ranjith and starring the iconic actor Chiyaan Vikram. The collaboration promises a cinematic spectacle set against the historic backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in the early 1900s, showcasing the untold story of oppressed communities involved in the exploration of gold in South India.
As anticipation for THANGALAAN reaches fever pitch, the project marked a special milestone on Wednesday—Chiyaan Vikram’s birthday—with an exclusive glimpse release. This captivating video offers fans a glimpse into Vikram’s stunning transformation for the film, serving as a mesmerising tribute to his special day.
Director Pa. Ranjith shared his excitement about the project and the tribute video, stating, “Thangalaan is a vision to present a historical adventure based on true events, brought to life by the phenomenal efforts of Vikram sir and the entire team. I am thrilled that Jio Studios, is partnering with our producer, Studio Green K.E. Gnanavelraja, to present this film. I am confident that THANGALAAN will resonate globally with audiences.”
The ensemble cast of THANGALAAN includes Vikram alongside Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai. With music direction by G.V. Prakash Kumar, the film promises a compelling narrative rooted in real-life events, shedding light on the overlooked contributions of marginalised communities during the gold exploration era. Currently in post-production, THANGALAAN is gearing up for a grand theatrical release across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages.
