Baby, the upcoming romantic film, directed by National award winning Colour Photo director Sai Rajesh, stars Anand Deverakonda, Viraj Ashwin, and Vaishnavi Chaitanya in lead roles. Ahead of the film’s release on July 14, actor Viraj Ashwin speaks to the scribes here sharing some tidbits about his role and the film.
Viraj, who for the first time plays the character that has his real name shares, “Anand, Vaishnavi, and my character are all quite natural in this film. They act as if they are connected to the real world. I’m portraying a young and energetic college student. A boy who knows nothing about life.”
Talking about Baby, he states that filmmaker Sai Rajesh has taken his time, and that every character has a backstory. “I comprehended why my character acted the way he did, and acting became easy. The trailer of our movie also got a good response and the dialogues are a special attraction in the movie Baby.”
Cinematography helps to set the tone of the film’s visual narrative. The film has cinematography by MN Bal Reddy, and the Anaganaga O Premakatha reveals he gives the film a special tone. “In whatever situation, there is visual beauty, and a new colour appears. Vijay Bulganin’s music is also noteworthy. The precise editing added to the film’s sharpness. Baby was edited in a sharp and appealing manner.”
Well, out of all his previous films, Baby is going to have a proper theatrical release. Be it his character, or any other ones, he enthuses that all of them have a great scope.
The trailer of Baby gives us a hint that the film is going to be a legit love triangle, but with different twists. The trailer introduces Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya as high school love birds. Anand Deverakonda fails to clear the 10th standard, but Vaishnavi does. Anand settles as an auto driver, while Vaishnavi Chaitanya joins a college where another boy (Viraj Ashwin) starts loving her. Also, Vaishnavi starts getting close to Viraj, which worries Anand. And thus, Viraj says, “The story and the characters are the hero for this movie, each character has that special heroism angle. Our film has many heroes. Vaishnavi acted very well in her character. She has acting experience in OTTs. However, she carried such a big film on her shoulders. The whole movie is about her. Vaishnavi is the perfect choice as the heroine for our movie Baby.”
A love story? Well there have been a number of them but Viraj, who is selecting projects with a good concept says, “Whether rich or poor, there is a rebel in students during college days. They have the feeling that the world is mine. I relate to the feeling. Love is shown through pain in this movie. That’s why I think this is an emotional love story. Compared to the love stories I’ve seen, I think this is a fresh approach to a love story. Triangle love stories are not regular and routine. Every technician has presented the story of the film as well as it should. SKN seems like a perfect producer.”
On the workfront, Viraj is currently working on a film titled Maricheeka, and some more interesting projects in the pipeline.
