Coal will play a vital role in eliminating power shortage, Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy said and added that he will try his best to make India generate adequate power.
Speaking to the media after assuming office here on Thursday, Kishan said the country is importing some coal from other nations. He said that there is a need to produce adequate coal in the coming days.
He said that 10 years ago agriculture, industry and the IT sector faced power cuts due to coal shortage and that even in Hyderabad industries faced power cuts. Due to power cuts crops used to wither and many farmers committed suicide. However, in the last 10 years, he said Modi made the country free of power cuts.
Coal will play a vital role in eliminating power shortages and I will try my best to make India free of power cuts. India is importing some coal from abroad. In future, there is a need to produce adequate coal. 10 years ago agriculture, industry and IT companies faced power cuts due to coal shortage. In the last 10 years, Modi has freed the country from frequent power cuts.
“I work under the leadership of Modi and will do my part to make India the third largest economy,” Kishan said.
