Port city Visakhapatnam will host the G-20 working group meeting scheduled on March 28 and 29 and the AP government is making elaborate arrangements in which more than 300 national and international representatives are expected to attend from 40 countries. AP State Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department Special Chief Secretary Y Srilakshmi said that AP government is putting all efforts to promote the state and the city of Visakhapatnam at the international level during the two-days meet. She held a review meeting with the concerned departmental officials on the arrangements.
Speaking to the media persons along with special chief secretary, Rajat Bhargava, she said that Andhra Pradesh government is hosting the G-20 working group meeting in Visakhapatnam on March 28 and 29. She explained that in this meeting, G-20 countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, England, America and European Union countries with another 19 member countries will participate in this G-20 working group meeting.
She said that about 300 people will participate in this meeting and further explained that in view of the presence of representatives from around 40 countries, steps are being taken to arrange three to four translators for each team. She mentioned that during the meeting of the G-20 Working Group, various innovative schemes and programs undertaken by the Andhra Pradesh State Government i.e. Village, Ward Secretariats, Farmers’ Bharosa Kendras, Digital Libraries, various innovative programs undertaken under Nadu-Nedu along with other policies will be showcased and the government will work hard to bring recognition to the beautiful city of Visakhapatnam at the national and international level. She added that all arrangements are being made to organize this meeting strictly following the rules of the Covid protocol.
Rajat Bhargava, Special Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Excise Department, said that during the G-20 working group meetings, large-scale measures will be taken to inform the importance of culture and tourism in our state, especially the tourism of the surrounding areas of Visakhapatnam and will take the importance of cultural areas to the national and international level.
Information Commissioner T Vijayakumar Reddy said that a special media lounge will be set up for the media during the working group meeting of G-20 countries to be held in Visakhapatnam. He said that measures will be taken for a wide campaign to promote the importance at the national and international levels. Moreover, during the meeting of the Working Group, efforts will be made to provide timely information to the media through press conferences and also by speaking to the various representatives who came to the meeting.
GVMC Commissioner P Rajababu, Joint Commissioner of Transport Venkateswara Rao, and Director of State Protocol Department Subramanyam Reddy was present in this meeting and other higher officials participated through video conference.
