Kashmira Pardeshi, who made her Tollywood debut with Nartanasala(2018) is all set to make a strong comeback with Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha(VBVK), which is going to be released on February 18.

Her maiden Telugu film, Nartanasala didn’t fare well at the box office. However, she seemed calm and composed ahead of VBVK’s release. In her interaction with the local media, she informed, “ I had always dreamt of working with Geetha Arts. I had in my mind that when I come back, I’d come back with a banner like Geetha Arts. There’s a reason why everyone wants to work with them. They’re so good at what they do. Bunny Vas Garu and Allu Aravind Garu have been very involved with the project. The way you’re treated and the way they support you is amazing.”

Coincidentally, when Kashmira got the call for VBVK, she was at a Balaji temple in Chennai. Recalling the incident, she reminisced, “It’s god’s blessing that actually happened. It’s a happy coincidence for me. I didn’t know that the film was based in Tirupathi or the film was called Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha. When I flew down to Hyderabad for narration, that’s when director Murali Kishor told me about the theme and said we were going to shoot in Tirupathi. I was like this is very meant to be. Since then, the vibes are very positive. We had the first schedule in Tirupathi for 30 days and it was amazing.”

Actors usually choose roles that move them from within. There could be many reasons why an actor decides to pick a certain part over the other. Few roles are tailor-made for them and the rest fall in their lap because they look the part. What could’ve compelled the Mission Mangal actress to say yes to her part in VBVK? “I was sold at the narration!”, enthused Kashmira. “ It was very gripping. The character Darshana has a lot of scope for performance. It’s just not looking good on the screen and stuff. If you notice Kiran has more dancing than I have in the teaser, trailer, and songs. So, I have a very nice graph.”

Well! Does that mean Kiran Abbavaram is going to play the glamorous-looking part on-screen? — quipped The Pioneer. “ No! We both are playing equally,” said Kashmira with a chuckle. “Of course! He has those fights and all which I find very interesting. I have not done that yet but there’s a lot of scope to Darshana’s character. Also, it’s a great thing that nowadays producers like Bunny Sir and Allu Arvind Sir or directors are making scripts that have more scope for the girls to show.”

In our recent interaction with VBVK’s lead actor Kiran Abbavaram, we asked him if he’s gotten over his fear of romancing co-stars on screen. To which he replied, “Not at all! It’s still going to another two or three years I guess(haha).” Co-actors should feel comfortable in each other’s company and it’s all the more important to look great on screen while romancing each other. There’s no room for being uncomfortable because everything falls flat if that happens. We questioned Kashmira as to how the lead pair managed to enact some of the intimate scenes. She happily answered, “There weren’t any intense intimate scenes. We had fantasy scenes in the songs. We covered up each other’s weaknesses. So, that’s beautiful for me. When it got awkward for him, I stepped and he did the same and we maintained each other’s boundaries.”

Although filmmakers are consciously making an effort to portray women in good light and writing fleshed-out parts for them, we inquired the Rider actress whether she feels there’s still a dearth of well-written female parts in Indian movies. She elaborated, “I feel compared to the previous times it’s a lot better now. The public has become more aware and we have become more aware. We are picking up scripts and learning the power of cinema and the representation of women. In every room, when a woman walks in, she brings a different energy. There’s a lot of power and I think that’s being visually communicated.”

Following up on what she said, we wondered if she’s going to gravitate towards picking more female-oriented characters. “Yes! Why not? I’m open to it,” wrapped Kashmira.

After VBVK, the actress will be seen opposite Hip-hop Tamizha in the tentatively titled Vaels International project. She’ll also be making her B’wood debut soon.
