Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has said that the YSRCP has received good support from the teachers and won both the MLC seats. Overall, it is a good result.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that Left parties and PDF are normally active in MLC elections and supported the TDP this time.He said that the voters who received the welfare schemes provided by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy did not participate in these elections. He recalled that even if TDP won the MLC election in 2007, it lost in the 2009 general election and the same will repeat in the coming elections. He criticised the TDP which contested in TS and its chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu was booked in the ‘Vote for Note’ case.
The Government Advisor said that TDP always tries to misuse the system. In Rayalaseema West Graduate Constituency, it was also proved that vote bundles were tampered with, so complaints were filed for recounting.
Sajjala said that this election will not represent all communities as it is held for a small section of people. Left parties, unions, and associations are always active in such elections.
“TDP participated in the MLC elections in the past.
However, for YSRCP it is the first time experimenting with graduates and teachers. It received a good response from teachers though the party has contested for the first time. In the case of graduates, there seems to be some difficulty in taking our message to the field level and reaching those special voters.”
He said that none of the people who received welfare schemes vote in this election so it is an election confined to a particular section of society and no need to discuss much on it much.
He said that one can clearly see the support Jagan Mohan Reddy had in the by-elections and local body elections held in the State and the same will be repeated in the coming elections. He said that this is not only against the government, they are all groups that are not related to the welfare schemes given by the government. “However, we fared reasonably well with a good number of votes in the Graduate elections,” he added.
Sajjala said that soon after taking charge, jobs were created for graduates, a total of 1.30 lakh new jobs were created within three months. More than 40,000 jobs were given in the Medical and Health department besides 6,000 jobs in the Police department. “Even in difficult situations like Covid, we are ahead in creating jobs and employment,” he signed off.
