We will give special attention to education, health sectors: Collector

District Collector C Narayana Reddy said that special attention would be accorded to education and health sectors in rural areas.
On Wednesday, he reviewed poverty alleviation programmes with members of women self-help groups at the district federation building near Nalgonda.
He said that the State government has been giving a lot of importance to women’s groups and as part of this, women’s groups have been given the responsibility of stitching uniforms for school students as well as managing canteens and other businesses.
He said that based on the resources, especially in Nalgonda district, zonewise units should be set up and grow through business. He stressed the need to encourage individual units.
He said that a business plan should be prepared for the success of the business. He said that though the women’s groups of the district are already running programs through units of agro-based products, dairies, Mee-Seva centers, Difficult Hiring Centers, Textiles, etc., there is a need to increase the quality as well as the targets in these works. He said that every economic programme undertaken should be implemented properly at the field level, he said.
Additional Collector of Local Bodies T. Purnachandra and RDO Nagi Reddy were present.
