TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, speaking to the minority community on Thursday, said that the prosperity and welfare of Muslims are intrinsically linked to the TDP. As the auspicious occasion of Ramzan unfolded, Chandrababu Naidu actively participated in the solemn festival celebrations here, remarking on the significance of Ramzan which embodies profound devotion, discipline, humility, and empathy. “Your observance of fasting with sincerity of heart and mind, coupled with your charitable deeds towards the less fortunate, is commendable. Throughout the month, your prayers to Allah for the preservation of righteousness should resonate in our societal and national ethos,” he expressed.
In his address, the former chief minister urged the community to reconsider which political party has consistently prioritized the needs and aspirations of the Muslim populace. Highlighting the establishment of the Muslim Welfare Corporation during the tenure of the TDP, Chandrababu underscored significant milestones such as the declaration of Urdu as the second official language in the erstwhile combined Andhra Pradesh and the establishment of Urdu University in Kurnool.
Drawing attention to the exclusive Urdu Universities established during TDP governance, Chandrababu also recalled initiatives such as the construction of Huz House in Hyderabad and Vijayawada, along with facilitating special flights for Haj pilgrims. He lamented the incomplete state of the Huz House in Kadapa, emphasizing the lack of progress under the current administration.
Assuring tangible support, Chandrababu pledged Rs 1 lakh each under the Dulhan scheme upon the formation of the NDA government in the State, while questioning the incumbent CM Jagan’s efforts towards the welfare of Muslims despite his rhetoric of ‘my minorities’.
Chandrababu further highlighted the TDP government’s introduction of a sub-plan aimed at providing financial assistance to Muslims, including sanctioning Rs 15 lakh for higher education abroad.
