WG Collector hands over pensions to beneficiaries

West Godavari District Collector P Prashanthi handed over pensions to some beneficiaries at Peda Amiram village in Kalla mandal on Monday.
The Collector handed over the social security pensions to some of the elderly women at a programme held in the Subba Raju & Subbamma function hall.
The government has enhanced the social security pension from Rs 2750 to Rs 3000.  She interacted with the beneficiaries knew their problems and inquired whether they were getting the pension every month.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that 2,36,928 pensioners would get benefits with the enhancement of pension from Rs 2,750 to Rs 3,000.  She said that an amount of Rs 69,55,35,000 is paid to the pensioners in the district.
As many as 4,274 new pensions were granted to eligible people in the Eluru district.  The disbursement of social security pension would begin on January 2 in the presence of people’s representatives and continue till January 5 in all mandals and municipalities in the district.
The Collector reiterated that the government is implementing many welfare schemes for the poor and asked them to utilize the benefits of the schemes.  RDO K Srinivasulu Raju, DRDA PD VS Prasad Yadav and other officials were present.
