What about Rs 12 400-cr Adani deals made in Davos?

Must read

Former finance minister Harish Rao, in a calculated attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, demanded clarity on the Rs. 12,400 crore agreements made with Adani during the recent Davos summit. In a press statement, Harish Rao questioned the Congress’s contradictory stance, pointing out how Rahul Gandhi had been demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into Adani’s alleged corrupt practices while Revanth Reddy was forging deals with the same tycoon.
“Revanth Reddy, who recently announced the decision to return Rs. 100 crore donated by Adani to Young India Skill University, must
explain the agreements signed with Adani in Davos. While Rahul Gandhi is fighting against Adani’s corruption, what justification does Revanth have for these deals?” (sic) Harish Rao asked.
Harish further alleged that the Congress government was conspiring to privatize the state’s power sector by handing over Discoms to Adani. “What is the rationale behind privatizing Discoms and betraying the people of Telangana? When Adani proposed a 20,000 MW thermal plant project, the Telangana government, under (former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s) KCR’s leadership respectfully declined and sent him off. But Congress rolled out the red carpet for him,” Harish Rao said.
Taking a swipe at Revanth Reddy’s alleged duplicity, Harish Rao pointed out that while Rahul Gandhi had been branding Adani as corrupt; Revanth Reddy had built a rapport with him, signing deals that now warranted scrutiny. “It’s ironic that Congress leaders are making a U-turn on Adani as soon as his corruption comes to light,” he added.
Harish Rao called for the immediate cancellation of all agreements made by the Telangana Congress government with Adani. “We demand that the Telangana government revoke every deal it has signed with Adani to protect the interests of the state,” he concluded.
