Why no assurance from Centre, Sharmila asks CM

Must read

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president YS Sharmila Reddy has raised questions about Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s interactions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union ministers after assuming office. She queried why CM Chandrababu Naidu had not secured any assurances from the Union government despite making several visits to New Delhi and meeting with PM Modi and other ministers.
In a press statement here on Wednesday, Sharmila commented that Chandrababu should be playing a vital role in the NDA as a ‘big brother’, however, he is circling New Delhi.  Also, Chandrababu should have insisted that the Central government fulfil the bifurcation assurances, but he is saluting the BJP leaders, she alleged.
“Though no assurance was fulfilled by the Union government, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu continues his visits to New Delhi.
He has visited New Delhi for the fourth time and held meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers. But, nothing is happening in favour of Andhra Pradesh,” she said.
Meanwhile, she criticised Chandrababu for not securing an announcement from the Central government that the Visakha Steel Plant will not be privatised. There was no specific clarity over the release of funds to the Polavaram Irrigation Project, she said. Also, she asked whether Chandrababu got clarity from the Union government on the capital construction. “Chandrababu should open his eyes and realise BJP’s attitude towards the beliefs of the people,” she added.
