The BJP’s Malkajgiri MP, Eatala Rajender, said that he will attend the hearing before the Kaleshwaram Probe Commission 100 per cent.
However, he said that he has not received any notices so far and that he came to know about the notices through the media. After receiving the notices, he said he will discuss the matter with the party and will move forward in accordance with the high command’s decision.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Eatala challenged the CM, Revanth Reddy, by saying that
the government is Revanth Reddy’s and can order any kind of investigation.
He lashed out at the CM, saying that KCR’s mistake in the past regarding Devaryamjal lands is what the CM is doing now.
“If the CM threatens us, we would not chicken out. Our party is in power at the Centre. All your records are in our hands. I will not go back if the CM makes cheap leaders talk about me,” Eatala said.
It may be recalled that the Medigadda Barrage was built during the KCR government as part of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. However, a part of this barrage collapsed in 2023. The then opposition, Congress, made this issue its propaganda weapon. During the election campaign in 2023, the Congress promised to conduct an inquiry into the construction of this barrage by a retired Supreme Court Judge if they came to power. In that election, Telangana voted for the Congress. With this, the Congress Government under the leadership of Revanth Reddy came to power. Eatala Rajender was the Finance Minister during the first term of KCR.
