Will contest for Gudivada MLA seat, asserts Kodali

Must read

In a significant political development, former minister and MLA Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani) has declared his candidacy for the Gudivada constituency in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, Dr Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, MLA of Gannavaram, will be seeking re-election from his constituency. Nani denounced the opposition TDP’s dissemination of false information suggesting a scarcity of seats for himself and Vamsi.
Addressing the press in Gudivada, Nani levied grave accusations against the opposition party’s president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, as well as certain media channels.
He clarified that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would be announcing 105 Assembly tickets, with the remaining candidates already identified.
Nani vehemently refuted claims of the YSRCP reconsidering its Gudivada candidate, decrying it as baseless propaganda. Additionally, he highlighted an incident where a leader who aspired to contest in the assembly elections had hastily erected and then removed banners.
According to Nani, Chandrababu Naidu’s indecisiveness in finalising the TDP candidate for Gudivada reflects his lack of resolve. He underscored that the YSRCP leadership has methodically disclosed candidates through seven lists, which encompass alterations and omissions.
The veteran politician emphasised that while his party’s leadership would announce its candidates for the Assembly elections, it’s not within the purview of the opposition party or other media entities. Regarding the distribution of tickets, Nani alleged that Chandrababu Naidu allocates them to his party’s contenders in exchange for exorbitant sums, whereas his party selects candidates based on their dedication, without any financial transactions. He cited the example of Mylavaram candidate Sarnala Tirupathi Rao to illustrate this contrast.
