‘Will solve Podu land issue if BJP comes to power’

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda said that it is a shame that the state government is not paying attention to the problems of Podu lands. He promised to solve wasteland problems when the BJP comes to power and also visited the Keslapur Nagoba in Adilabad district.

He said that it is a joy to build the temple with donations from Mesram clans and that the Centre will grant funds needed for the development of the Nagoba temple.

“Send reports about Podu lands. The tribal people living in the forest have full rights over forests,” he said.

Arjun visited the Nagoba Jatara on Sunday along with Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Adilabad MP Soyam Bapurao at the Keslapur village of Adilabad district.

Addressing the tribal darbar, Arjun said that he will bring the problems of tribal people to the attention of Prime Minister Modi.

He said that the Centre is planning to build houses for every tribal and that the honour of making an Adivasi woman the President goes to the BJP.

Soyam Bapurao said that tribals were the same as they were before Independence. He said that tribal people are constantly fighting for their land. According to the Central Law of 2006, Podu land pattas must be given to tribal people, he said.

He said the state government is provoking forest officials to attack tribal people and demanded that the Centre should intervene and provide protection to Adivasis.

He asked the Centre to focus on GO No: 3 and declare Jodeghat a tourist centre.

He said that Adilabad is the only district without a university and added the tribal university was shifted out due to a conspiracy. He asked the Centre to develop Jangubai and Sadalpur temples.

Bapurao said that Adivasis have immense faith in Sanjay that all problems of tribal people will be solved after a BJP government comes to power.
